Krod was the partner of the original Ultraman, they two ventured to an alien world that was under attacked. There they found Bemlar destroying a city. Krod recklessly rushed the monster grabbing it and taking of world. The creature bit into his neck delivering a mortal wound. Bemlar escaped and by the time Ultraman reached him he was dying and passed on his Beta Capsule to him.
