A long time ago, the Earth was at the brink of destruction after King Demon Beasts wreaked havoc, but the monsters were sealed with the help of Ultra Warriors. In the present day, these monsters were unsealed by Jugglus Juggler as cases of monster attacks started to appear in Japan. During Maga-Basser's attack, Gai made his debut by saving Naomi, the leader of the paranormal website SSP and started his mission to stop the resurrection of King Demon Beasts while taking refuge in the SSP's office. Unknown to the others, Gai secretly transforms into Ultraman Orb, a warrior of light who borrows the power of past Ultra Warriors upon losing his original form to fight against frequent monster attacks while facing Juggler, his original ally turned adversary after being rejected to be chosen for Orb's power.

Gai Kurenai / Ultraman Orb : A mysterious, yet cheerful young adventurer that travels around the Earth for a long time while playing his Orbnica musical instrument. His true identity is the mysterious warrior Ultraman Orb, who descended from beyond the outer galaxy to protect the Earth and stop the resurrection of the King Demon Beasts.
- Jugglus Juggler / Phantom Demon : Gai's archenemy, sually appears as a well-dressed young human male, he is capable of transforming into an armored form called Demon Form. He is a very emphatic and short-tempered creature who is known to be easily irritated to the point of violently tantrums.
Is a mysterious phenomenon tracking site which bends on uncovering paranormal events and monster sightings. They usually patrol in the SSP-7 car and is always the place where Shibukawa relies on information when the said group incapable of researching on their own. This group was founded by Naomi Yumeno from her childhood dream of Ultraman Orb fighting against Maga-Zetton, and is also the team's sole breadwinner by engaging in multiple part-time jobs.
- Naomi Yumeno : Team captain and the original series' secondary protagonist. She is known for her energetic and cheerful personality but also had a running gag of tripping down when walking out. As the great-granddaughter of Natasha, she inherited several traits from the former such as the battle of Orb with Maga-Zetton and memories of Gai's Orbnica melody among others.
- Jetta Hayami : Cameraman and updating the SSP's website. Informative and self-proclaimed adventurous, he has an affinity for UFO and UMA and dream is to become a celebrity through his research on the world's mysteries. As a child, Jetta was reminded by his father that being a hero doesn't mean to always put his own life in harm.
- Shin Matsudo : Research analyst. He is a 23-year-old genius who graduated by skipping years in college and gains popularity since his childhood. He is knowledgeable in state-of-the-art physics, creating ingenious inventions and researching ancient civilizations but lacks common sense.
An international military organization founded under the United Nations branch and is based on Paris. They possess a connection to the independent group SSP via their captain, Shibukawa and the Kofune Manufacturing in terms of mechanics. While originally a simple military organization, frequent monster attacks starting from the advent of Maga-Basser in Japan forced them to revise their arsenal and combat strength in order to efficiently combat against monster attacks.

- Sakai : VTL Japan's high-ranking member.
- Ryutaro Suganuma : Director of VTL, as the main person confronting the threat of Magata No Orochi.
- Ittetsu Shibukawa : Captain of VTL Japan's Special Intelligence Unit and Naomi's uncle, being her mother's younger brother-in-law. A godan in Judo and sandan in Karate, he has a strong sense in responsibility and is fearful of Naomi wandering off investigating paranormal cases but does shows some support by notifying the SSP of paranormal activity or visiting them for informations.
