XIG Operation Crew
XIG (eXpanded Interceptive Guardians) is an Earth defense team under the command of GUARD (Geocentric Universal Alliance against the Radical Destruction). XIG is led by Commander Akio Ishimuro, and headquartered in the Aerial Base, a floating sky fortress, utilizing the Repulsor Lift technology created by Gamu Takayama, which allows the base and XIG's fighters to defy gravity. The Aerial Base hovers directly above in GUARD's Geo Base.
Alchemy Stars is an organization in Ultraman Gaia. A British organization founded back in the 1980s, Alchemy Stars was a scientist based network composed of child prodigies from around the globe. Later in the year 1997, the Alchemy Star scientist created Crisis, a future-predicting machine. Among the scientists whom contributed in the project was Hiroya Fujimiya, Ultraman Agul's future human host.
The machine predicted that the Earth would soon be destroyed by the Roots Of Destruction. However, it also predicted that humans would be planet Earth's main cause of destrustion, thus making Fujimiya and Inamori leave the organization. Due to this, GUARD was formed along with it's branch, XIG. Their technologies such as the Aerial Base and the XIG Fighters along with the anti-gravity hover tech, Repulsorlifts were developed by the Alchemy Stars.
GUARD (Geocentric Universal Alliance against the Radical Destruction) is a united nations defense organization formed to counter the Entity of Destruction.
Overview
When the supercomputer Crisis, created by the Alchemy Stars, warned humanity's extinction by the Entity of Destruction (a.k.a. Root of Destruction), the United Nations gave a response. Years before the first invasion on Earth, the United Nations along with the Alchemy Stars had formed GUARD. GUARD then developed a wide range of facilities, bases, comba vehicles, and with the help of the Alchemy Stars, GUARD had successfully developed the Repulsor Lift. The discipline was in accordance of the army but it often faced political issues and challenges from the media, such as the questions "Is the GUARD reliable" and "Are our taxes paid towards the government and GUARD worth it?"
Creation of the Aerial Base and XIG
Shortly after GUARD was formed, the construction of Aerial Base was planned and constructed. When the Aerial Base was completed, XIG, an elite branch of GUARD was created.
